Some people said the islands may have been named by Hawaii Loa, their traditional discoverer. Then again, they may have been named after Hawaii or Hawaii, the traditional home of the Polynesians.
Hawaii Preparatory Academy founded in 1949 is a self-governing coeducational school providing a full range of opportunities for students from kindergarten through grade 12. In 1987, in light of the Hawaii State Constitution mandate Article X, Section 4 to promote the study of Hawaiian culture, language and history and the persistent requests of parents and Hawaiian community leaders, the Department of Education established the Hawaiian Language Immersion Program, Ka Papahana Kaiapuni Hawaii.
Looking on to the turquoise waters of Pearl Harbor lays the home of the University of Hawaii football teams, Aloha Stadium. The 50,000-seat facility has been home to the state of Hawaii only Division 1 football teams for the past 29 years. The University of Hawaii at Hilo womens cross country team finished in 7th place at the University of Hawaii Big Wave Invitational hosted on the Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course.
Its ability to quickly adapt to Hawaii from its native Puerto Rico and reach unprecedented numbers, the nonexistence of predators, and its noisy mating behavior have made the co qui frog the target of government and community eradication and control efforts.
With each other the local people hope to celebrate Hawaiian cultural diversity, honor its ancestors, encourage stewardship of their environment and contribute to global peace by fostering cultural understanding and appreciation, the Hawaii residents love tourists to come and visit them and enjoy the beautiful island and to learn about their many traditions.
